Can your baby help you lose the baby weight?

It's the Battle of the Baby Weight! This is one fight moms seem to struggle with after childbirth, but how can you come out of this a weight loss winner? An organization called Stroller Strides urges mothers to band together with their babies for a special exercise class that emphasizes "fitness for mom, fun for baby."

My sexy wife does stroller strides and loves it. She looks great, but it also makes her feel good to exercise regularly. She is teaching our kids to live a healthy lifestyle while I sit at my desk all day.

sorry ladies. i have to disagree. i am the mother of two lovely daughters. i did not lose the weight after my first child even though i follow a healthy lifestyle. then i got pregnant with my second child and had even more baby weight to contend with. it's not that i don't love my curves, i would just like to fit back into my pre-baby clothes again. i joined stroller strides three months ago and even though i love the workout, it's the opportunity to talk with other moms that's the true benefit. plus my girls love to get outdoors and watch mama sweat!

I agree with everyone on this. Betsy I feel that though, I now have a mothers body with proud sexy curves, Im no longer a stick. I lost alot of weight being a new mom and cleaning and running around.

i seem to share the same view with betsy d above, on this loosing baby weight issue.a mother should focus on eating right and living a healthy life style.burn calories through adequate breastfeeding and taking baby for walks.also note that the baby weight would gradualy disappear if a mother is active and domesticated.

Personally, my baby did help me lose my weight... what with almost daily tumbling around to clean and provide him his stuff, carry him, and all... and he grew and got heavier so fast, so that kinda helped. =)

instead of obsessing about baby weight, why not just focus on eating and living healthy? breastfeeding burns calories, as does taking baby for walks, but the weightloss is just a nice bonus of these activities. i'm way too busy enjoying my baby to give a $hi+ about if the weight comes off. i have more curves now because i have a mother's body rather than a girl's body. i'm proud of my new shape. i try to live a healthy lifestyle for myself and to set an example for my child, but i really just don't understand why people are so horrified by the shape of a mother's body.
