Is your kid a huge baseball fan? You can make his party a real grand slam with these neat ideas. A baseball party is fun, easy, and inexpensive. Best of all it's a real hit with baseball lovers.

Food

Hot dogs, popcorn, and cracker jacks are fun and easy snacks to serve. Peanuts and sunflower seeds could be bought in individual packs. And don't forget the bubblegum! Baseball cupcakes are easy to make. Ice cupcakes with white icing, then add red icing for stitches. Or you can make a baseball field cake. Bake a rectangle shaped cake and use green icing to create the field, add cookie bases, and brown sugar for sand on the pitcher's mound.

Decorations

You can use your favorite team colors to decorate. Inexpensive tablecloths, plates, and napkins in various colors can be found at most dollar stores. Then have your child help create banners for his favorite team. Or you can print some team logos and players from your computer. Before you know it, your house will look like his favorite stadium.

Games

Play ball! A backyard wiffle ball game is sure to be a hit. Players can don their favorite team shirts and compete in an all star game. Have your yard ready, with rubber bases and some extra bats and balls. Or step it up a notch and have a homerun derby. You could create a homerun "fence" with some stakes and mesh roll used in gardening. A trophy could be awarded to the winner who hits the most homeruns.

Indoor Fun

In case of a rain delay, have some indoor games ready to keep your little rookies busy. Baseball bingo is an easy game to play. Print some empty bingo cards from your computer and fill them in with various team names. Or you can play pin the ball on the catcher's glove. Make a poster with a picture of a baseball glove in the center. Cut baseballs out of white paper. Blind fold players and have them try to pin the ball on the glove. No peeking!

Treat Bags

Don't forget the goodie bags! You can fill them up with baseball cards, wrist bands, wiffle balls, baseball stickers, and cracker jacks.
