YOUR FRIENDS' ACTIVITY

Should I move in with my boyfriend?

The thought of moving in with your boyfriend can definitely be exciting. You will get to spend more time with him and wake up every morning with him by your side. Determining if you should move in with your boyfriend is a big decision and shouldn't be taken lightly. Before you decide to live with your boyfriend, there are a few questions you should ask yourself. Asking yourself these questions beforehand will help you figure out if you are truly ready to move in with him.

How long have you been dating him?

It's important to date a person for awhile before deciding to move in with him. If you've only been dating your boyfriend for a month or two, you don't know him well enough to live with him. You could move in with him and realize he's not right for you that same week. That's why you should date him for at least a year before even thinking about cohabitating. When you've been dating someone for a year, you truly know him and obviously get along well.

Do you want to live with him just because of financial reasons?

One of the benefits of moving in with your boyfriend is that you can split your bills down the middle. But if it's the only reason you want to move in with him, you're making a bad decision. You should want to move in with your boyfriend because you love him and want to spend more time with him instead of just for financial reasons.

Are you spending all your free time together already?

If you are already spending most of your free time with each other without feeling suffocated, moving in together might not be such a bad idea. It's obvious that you enjoy one another's company, so it's likely that you will have fun living together.

How do you two resolve disagreements?

If you two scream at each other instead of calmly talking things out after a disagreement, it's probably not such a wise idea to move in together right now. You first need to learn how to work out your disagreements in a civil manner, so there are no hurt feelings.

The decision to move in with your boyfriend is ultimately up to you. Just make sure your decision will be good for both you and your guy.
