Jimmy Fallon, The Roots and the ‘Sesame Street’ cast cover the show’s iconic theme tune

Yesterday we bought you news of the latest piece of viral awesomeness from Jimmy Fallon, with a video of the late night host engaging in an epic lip-sync battle with funny man Stephen Merchant and actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Well, Fallon’s back at it again, with a video of him hosting a sing-along to the “Sesame Street” theme song. Made to honour the 44th season of the hit kids' show, Fallon and house band The Roots joined Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monster and the rest of gang for a rendition of "Can You Tell Me How to Get to Sesame Street?" complete with classroom instruments and some original rhymes from MC Black Thought.

The end result is one of the most smile-inducing things you’ll find today.

Of course this isn’t Fallon’s first experience of the world of childhood instrument covers. After all the late night host has previously performed the same trick alongside Mariah Carey for a rendition of “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” with Robin Thicke for a stripped back take on his hit “Blurred Lines”, and in the company of Canada’s own Carly Rae Jepsen for a fresh spin on her mega hit “Call Me Maybe.” But even among such esteemed company, we think this one’s the best.
