After the morning rush of getting three kids to bus stops and school, I can't think of anything I love more than to make myself a delicious latte and hearty bowl of oatmeal, grab my favorite book and sit down for a little peace and quiet.
Then I remember that I have this little munchkin to deal with. Thankfully, she seems to be a girl after her mother's own heart. She's happy to sit down with me with her own little bowl of oatmeal and her favorite book. Unfortunately, she has a lot to share with me while she's reading her book!
I have decided that everyone should have a two-year-old shadowing them, at least for a day. I notice much more about the world around me thanks to her priceless observations. Her non-stop chatter keeps me from getting lost in my own thoughts--surely that's a good thing...
Like Dorothy leaving the grey land of Kansas for the technicolor world of the Munchkins, I appreciate the warmth and brilliance she adds to my day with her vivacity.
How about for you? Who adds a little rainbow to your day?
Melanie writes about the rainbows (and thunderstorms) her four kids add to her day at her personal blog, tales from the crib .
