Who cares about the names...they are fun and for adults only. We are adults...right?

Buddhagrrl65 why are you even reading this page if you are not interested in kids etc? Considering this is the "Parenting" page of this website? Maybe you could use a drink or something to make you happy because you seem miserable. I think the article was just a fun idea and not meant to harm, annoy or endanger any children. People truly need to lighten up.

I am with you Somebody. Parents these days are complete wankers and think they are the only ones who raised kids.

Gimme a shot of BV or a Makers Mark and let's talk.

WTF!! IS UP WITH THESE NAMES!!!
We are adults, not kids!! Talk to us as adults, and take this kiddy name Bullshit out!! If we deal with kids all day, and want a drink when its all said and done and the little ones are tucked in for the night. Im not going to make a stupid named cocktail!! Im gonna have a shot of Makers Mark for fucks sake (what too adult here), and posibly, another, before I have a Manhattan!
Then a glass of milk and off to sleepy beddy bye!!!
      You are a moron!!

Amazing that something as innocuous as giving childish names to mixed drinks can create such hostile "adult?" responses when the only truly questionable aspects of this are the underlying messages that seem to say, "Parenting will drive a person to drink!" and, "getting hammered after a hard day of taking care of the children is a perfectly acceptable way to deal with the stress of parenthood."

I'm left wondering what the hostile commentators feel about the other more "adult" mixed drink names that can be ordered at any bar....you know... the ones who were named by people who haven't yet become parents. Drink names like "slippery nipple", "sex on the beach", "leg spreader", "hot cum shot", ect., ect. All so very "adult"....LOL

I do not understand this article at all.

Am I supposed to invite my other parent friends over for a tongue in cheek drink thing? If so, who is watching all of our kids? Did we all manage to get the night off? Or did they just leave them home alone? Am I supposed to instead invite my friends who are actually free over? If so, they won't get the silly names because they are not parents. Or am I supposed to mix myself a few cocktails like a bloody alcoholic while my child slumbers in the other room?

I repeat, I don't understand this article at all. WHO exactly is this written for? Last I checked, every single parent I know does not throw these types of parties. Instead, they occasionally get to go out to the bar/club. This happens maybe once a month, but more likely only a few times a year.

Geez People, How uptight..!! I find this article funny, and yes once on a while when the kids were more than a handful I do get myself a drink after I put them in bed, I don't get trashed or do it everyday, but be real, I love my kids and I consider these kind of days part of the deal and I see nothing wrong with relaxing on the couch after a hectic day with a drink in hand, everybody has done it, and about the drink's names, I think they are clever and every parent knows what the author is talking about.

I drink when/if I go out. I'm not big on even having alcohol in the house, but that's just me.
