I married a city boy (St. Paul I miss you) and forgot to tell him about cows. He loves animals and wanted to see them up close. If you stick out your hand for them to smell, it either gets licked and goes in the mouth. Either are disgusting - when he came home and told me about it the look on his face was priceless. Kind of a wonderment mixed with disgust at getting slimed.

Pshaw! in West Texas you don't dare play outside barefoot... unless that is you want your feet full of grassburrs (or stickers as we call 'em)... And I love being in the more humid areas for the fireflies... we don't have those in West Texas either... to too hot and dry in the summer.

I was definetly raised a country kid and loved it! There was nothing like running around barefoot! When I was younger, taking horseback riding lessons was my favorite part of the week, and so was mucking the stalls.

That's funny, my kids definitely qualify and I would not have it any other way. It is an attitude and way of life. Enjoy the simple pleasures and always be thankful, help you fellow man.

This isn't raising your kid country. This is raising your kid not to be a complete pansy #$%$ No offense. I was raised this way and my little sister was raised in towns or city's. She's a complete pansy #$%$ My cousins who were raised in the country and some of them who were raised in the cities...you could see the total difference. This is also a good way to raise your children to not become obsessed with material things, to appreciate the small things in life and to learn to be more self sufficient.
