One of Toshiko's biggest accomplishments was the The Knitted Wonder Space II, which opened at Hakone Open Air Museum in Japan in 2009. A tunnels of holes capture the sensation of bobbing through water while dipping across the flat swaths of knitting must feel akin to moon-walking.

textile artist Toshiko Horiuchi MacAdam's uses yarn and her two hands to create giant dream-like webs for kids to explore, swing from and tangle themselves in. Now that photos of her projects, installed in public spaces throughout the world, are going viral, those of us who haven't gotten inside her nests can play vicariously.
