YOUR FRIENDS' ACTIVITY

Baby photos being stolen on Facebook for evil reason

Facebook baby photosFacebook baby photosIt's 5 o'clock, do you know where your baby pictures you put on Facebook are? While I can't imagine anyone taking pictures of my babes and using them for nefarious reasons, apparently my imagination isn't as advanced as I thought it was. A 23-year-old teacher in the UK nabbed some unsuspecting mom's baby photos in a revenge plot against her ex-boyfriend, which was totally working. Until that crazy lady got busted.

You see, nut ball Victoria Jones wanted to get back at her ex-boyfriend, Daniel Barberini, so she posted photos of a newborn on her own Facebook claiming her as her own. She continued to lift photos at events like Christmas and post them with the implication that this baby girl was Barberini's, and she was raising her alone.

    But wait, it gets worse.

Jones decided to torture the ex (who apparently never visited her to get an up close and personal look at his daughter) by saying she had actually given birth to twins, but the boy was born with Down syndrome and died. What the hell, crazy pants?

Either way the jig was up when the supposed father was showing off the Facebook photos of his "daughter" and a friend recognized the baby as being someone else's. Yes, that was bound to happen. Especially since Jones swiped the baby photo from one of her own FB friend's pages. Smooth move, Facebook friend. Smooth. Move. Now Jones has been fired from her teaching job, as some people might object to having a lying, baby photo stealing crazy as their child's care taker. She will surely be banned from Facebook next and will have to live her life via Google+.

While no babies were harmed during this wacko, if not illegal, event, it will still make any proud mom pause. I mean, who is looking at my kid's baby photos? I would shrug it off, but this story makes me feel suddenly protective of those tiny jpgs.

Do you feel like your baby's photos are not safe on Facebook?

LBC, no your photos are NOT safe on FB, regardless of your privacy settings. any of your friends can take your pics and do with what they want with them. when you sign up for facebook, you are pretty much signing yourself up for "no private life". so just be safe when posting pictures, period. have you paid attention to the backgrounds of your pictures? posting a picture of your new house you just moved into with the house number in the background? what about that new flat screen, surround sound system? anyone on your friends list can see what you're posting. when your friends make a comment on one of your pictures, every one of THEIR friends will see your picture because THEY posted a comment. suppose you have 100 friends and one of your friends have 1,000 friends. you post a picture, that one friend comments on your picture and now 1,100 people just saw your picture. and any of them can pass that picture around without your knowledge. is your cell phone number listed under the info? did you know that anyone can track you by that cell number to where you live? if you dont believe me, ask any computer expert. facebook is great and all, but are you willing to risk the private things about your life?

the same thing literally happened to me and my husband, they person stealing pics was his ex gf and she took her moms ultrasounds and other peoples pics saying they were her and my husbands baby, she even said it was sick and at the hospital in the nicu when we tried to go to her house to see it, she said that she would call the cops if i stepped on her property but she wouldnt let my husband go by himself either, someone finally commented telling her to "get me baby off her your f***ing profile" and to delete all the comments saying it was hers

Honestly when it comes to facebook and children photos I am more worried about pedophiles. I worry about my single friends posting their baby pics, because maybe a guy will friend request and they will have no idea it has more to do with their children being a possible target.

This hasnt happen to me on fb but it did happen on myspace. I had pictures of my son up and my son's father's gf took the photo's and tired to say my son was her's. I found out and i had myspace remove the photo's. I dont know why someone would do something like that and I was hurt because she even had the nerve to crop me out of the picture smfh. Im currently trying to send all of the pictures to my phone and delete them off my of myspace and close my account because i cannot deal with something like that again.

Which is why not everyone that I'm friends with can see the pictures... really just family and REALLY close friends of mine. I will post one on my mobile and than I will move it over to the album that has very strict controls on it.

Everyone knows that the Winklevoss twins, out of pure envy, have sent all of your pictures of your little boys to priests. Yeah, Episcopalian priests, but they are still priests!

Uh....Facebook has over 800 million active users. One person's photos were misused by a friend. Out of more than 800 million users. 1 out of 800 million. I don't know if I am good enough with decimals to figure out that miniscule percentage. It should be needless to say that this is no real cause for alarm. Obviously, that is unclear to most of you.

So let me help: statistically, you are more likely to have any number of tragic things happen to you probably including getting struck by lightning in your living room twice, than having someone do this to you/your child's picture.

Wow thats a bit scary. Facebook keeps changing the privacy settings to help the users but what about disabling pictures from being copied? I mean thats an easy solution!

Reading that makes me feel so much better about keeping my kids pics on facebook private, only I can see them. I don't even post anymore pics of my kids, granted everyone on my facebook I know personally, I'm not taking any chances.

Both those people are losers! The crazy woman steals someone else's baby pics to pose as a single mom, and then the guy who now thinks he's a dad doesn't bother to actually visit his daughter but has no problem showing her off to other people as if he actually cared that he was a father... can we say Dead Beat Dad?!

Well, that is weird. But Google+ is waaaay better than Facebook.

She needs help indeed and facebook peeps need to be careful before accepting "friends". People are more interested in getting a bunch of "friends" that they don't know 1/2 of the people they accept. I'm not on facebook so I could be wrong about that.

lmao, the chick was vindictive which is okay, but the guy's a deadbeat idiot for not even checking things out.
