THE BEST LITTLE "TORT" HOUSE in TEXAS

Parents of 22-Year-Old Who Died Within 20 Minutes of Entry Say Hospital Covered-Up Medical Negligence. Doctors Failed to Say She Was Comatose

TEXAS IS THE BEST LITTLE "TORT" HOUSE

Jocelyn Y. Dickson a 22 year old special needs little frame girl of Houston, Texas, swallowed a piece of corn dog at her Valentine's Party, who within 20 minutes of entry to the Emergency Room of Memorial Hermann Hospital Southwest---dies from three perforations, and was administered too much CO2. Autopsy also reveals six sponges were left in abdomen.

Jocelyn underwent a routine endoscopy to remove food, when the chilling discovery was noted that the doctor had given her too much CO2 which caused abdominal compartment syndrome. Imagine if you will that after this situation, the situation worsen, whereby she suffers from peritonitis, serositis and septic shock. Doctors stated that she had gas and ordered an enema. For three hours she lay in a vegetative state on a ventilator. Unknowingly to parents, Jocelyn was already dead, but situation even gets grimmer. Doctors came back three hours later to now state that emergency surgery needed to take place because of concern that organs would shut down, doctors operate and it is at this time, they leave the sponges in abdomen and rolls her into ICU until every drop of blood rolled onto floor.

What do you do when the law in Texas states that you have to have an expert witness to testify that the doctor did this with willful and wanton intent and if there is no expert report you cannot even file a lawsuit. Jocelyn last words to her mother was "Momma Help Me Please" as she stood on her knees in the hospital bed just before they put her to sleep, never to wake again.

Deirdre Gilbert, Jocelyn's mother did not find out this information until autopsy was done, doctors stated to Medical Examiner cause of death was choking from a hotdog.
