How they'll be spending Mother's Day:
a. I will just enjoy being with my four kids at home, and this year it will be my boys' 19th birthday. What better gift and day could I have asked for!
b. My children cook for me, chicken and dumplings, lasagna. I love Mexican food or Italian. One year we all went out together and bought the Bible on CD so we could all listen to it together.
c. I get the glory of not planning anything! Isn't that what we all really want? No decisions, just a big bouquet of lilacs and no decisions. Sounds delicious!
d. We live in the city but we have a weekend home in Westchester, so we'll just go there or to my sister's house nearby. It's not a day where I get to lie around in bed with kids waiting on me hand and foot.
e. I'll spend it with my daughters, my husband, and tracking the ascent of the online film I just directed, YOU, a love story truly made from the heart, into cyberspace.
f. I plan on attending church with my family and then having a nice quiet brunch with my mother, father, Eric and all the children.
g. Well, I won't be cooking! We have a 17-city book tour, so if we are traveling, whatever city we are in, I'm hoping the girls can come out and we can celebrate together. With this whole TV thing, you have to balance so much.
h. My husband and I are teaching the toddler Sunday school class this semester, so we'll be trying to keep our sanity with 15 three year olds. Afterward, I'll look forward to our favorite breakfast with my 4 and 5 year olds: chocolate chip pancakes with a whipped cream smile on top.
i. I want to stay home and cuddle my beautiful children and have my husband cuddle me. We've been working very hard this year on the reality show and my book, so a down day of nothing but family time is exactly what I want and need.
j. I hope to spend it with my own mother, and of course, all my kids, doing something really fun. It's the one day of the year I get to choose whatever I want to do. One day five years ago, I woke up and spontaneously announced we were all going to Disneyland. They all climbed in the car and went with me. It was the best day ever.
k. On a hike near my house with my boys and my dog. We went last Mother's Day, and I do it just about every day. It's my quiet time, where I feel I'm most spiritual.
How'd you do?
