Gisele Bundchen potty-trains a 6-month-old? Harumph

Just when you've come to terms with the fact that you're never going to be that mommy who makes a triumphant return to her modeling career with abs so bronzed and toned that they give the Oscar statuette a run for his money, Gisele Bundchen piles on one more of life's little unfairness-es. That's right, the supermodel turned super mom has apparently potty trained her 6-month-old, or so says the Boston Herald translation of her interview with Brazilian website Globo.com.

So how does a kid who can't even walk get himself to the toilet? With a little help from Mom, of course. It seems that early potty-training, a.k.a. "elimination communication" is all about Mom watching for the signals and getting to the porcelain on time (or in the case of little Benjamin, right after morning and afternoon nursing).

"Give it about five minutes, and bang," Bundchen told the website, adding that she was also glad to be cutting down on the massive amount of diapers that add to our landfills.

Don't believe her? Well, for anyone else out there that thought "elimination communication" was something best done by mob bosses, this highly informative, British-accented video gives the low down on the practice, including how mothers in other parts of the world have learned to read their kids expressions and know when it's time to go. Well, color me equal amounts of skeptical, jealous and impressed.

What do you think, parents? Would you, or have you tried elimination communication with your kids?
