Kate Middleton and Prince William are no doubt drafting a Craigslist ad this morning ("Do you have experience taking care of extremely powerful infants, and are you able to stay calm in the presence ofhair crafted by angels?"), as their current nanny, 71-year-old Jessie Webb, has reportedly given her notice, having reached the end of her contract. Webb, who had taken care of William when he was a child, had "come out of retirement" Michael Jordan-style to care for young Prince George-with the understanding that she would only work for three months. While Kate and William are said to be "keen to retain her services," per the Daily Mail, they are now "discreetly" on the lookout for additional help in advance of their trip to New Zealand and Australia this spring.

The Mail notes the particular demands created by the upcoming trip Down Under: "The Duke and Duchess will have a punishing schedule, criss-crossing the two countries in less than a month. 'They need round-the-clock help for George if he joins them,' said a source. Kate might also want to think about taking a dresser or a lady's maid. It sounds grand, but it's actually very practical." There had been some rumors that Carole Middleton would join the couple on the tour and help to look after her grandson, but aides have debunked such claims.

Maybe we've been watching too much Downton Abbey, but Kate and William may want to install some kind of nanny cam to make sure whoever they hire isn't secretly spewing hate speech in the nursery or conspiring to get with . . . whomever the real life equivalent of Tom Branson would be. (Prince Harry?)

Also, we think it would be fun if Kate and William turned the search into a reality show. Think Britain's Next Top Nanny. Challenges would include: "William calls to say he's staying in Cambridge for the night to study. How do you tactfully communicate this information to Kate?", "Harry wants to take George 'out for a drive' at 7 P.M. along with Cara Delevingne and Kelly Osbourne, and he won't take no for an answer. How do you react?" and "Kate can't find her favorite fascinator before a charity ball. You have ten minutes to make her a replacement."
