Michelle Obama gardens on “Sesame Street”

Paul Richards/Getty ImagesPaul Richards/Getty ImagesThe 40th anniversary season of "Sesame Street" will feature many celebrity appearances from the likes of Cameron Diaz, Eva Longoria Parker, Ricky Gervais, and as was just announced yesterday, first lady Michelle Obama.

Obama will be teaching the kids and puppets about gardening on the show's premiere episode. The first lady has a green thumb--she planted the first garden at the White House since World War II. She grows 50 fruits and vegetables that are often used in the White House kitchen.

On "Sesame Street," Obama will plant tomato, cucumber and lettuce seeds. "All these seeds need to grow are sun, soil and water," she says on the show. "If you eat these healthy foods, you're going to grow up to be big and strong, like me. I know you're going to like these vegetables, because in addition to being healthy, they really taste great!"

So cute! We love that Michelle is making herself available to kids and teaching them about gardening and eating healthy. Tune in to PBS on November 10 to watch! [US]
