The New Pre-baby Photo Album? Dad-to-be Captures Reactions to Big News

Priceless. That's how British photographer Tom Robinson describes his boss's expression after hearing Robinson was having a baby. It was then that Robinson decided to capture reactions from friends and family members the moment he told them his good news.

At 29 and newly married, nobody expected the words "I'm going to be a dad" uttered just as Robinson snapped his camera. The result, is a pre-pregnancy photo diary unlike any other.

Robinson swears each shot was snapped seconds after sharing his future plans, and not one of them was staged. His favorite reaction came from his own parents who had been nudging the couple to ante up some grandchildren.

When Robinson's little girl, Matilda, finally arrived last year, she provided endless photo opportunities all her own. A family portrait series from the feet down, featuring mom, dad and baby, is the latest project. But Robinson tells Shine, his "I'm going to be a dad" series will come full circle when he eventually shows Matilda the first moment she came alive in the minds of her family.
