School and Motherhood

I never realized how much time management would be involved in parenting until I enrolled in school. At first it was all about getting my daughter to school, cleaning house and cooking dinner, picking my daughter up from school, and the list goes on. I had a routine set, and that was it...Then I decided to go back to school to become a LPN, and now I'm having to arrange everything...It's funny because now I am having to fit my school schedule and assignments into all of this. But I know that I am going to get it handled. It's just that I am having to manage my time more wisely...
Motherhood is an amazing experience no matter how old the children get...I love the fact that my daughter likes to attempt to help me with my homework. She never ceases to amaze me!! I want to give her a positive role model to look up to...I want to make sure that my school schedule and homework isn't affecting my time with her...So I managed to come to the conclusion that I needed to just reroute my entire schedule...I still continue with my routine as normal, but I try to get as much of my assignments done while she is at school during the day as well as after she falls asleep at night!!! That way I can give my daughter as much of me as possible when she's out of school. I enjoy helping her with her homework and eating dinner with her...
Time management plays a major role in parenting. To be honest, I didn't realize that I was actually unconsciously practicing it until recently...It took me going to school to come to this conclusion, but nevertheless you learn something new everyday....Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our lives and going through the motions so much that you don't realize how things are going until an event takes place that will make you think. I am enjoying the journey, and I look forward to learning more as the days go by....
