Congratulations are in order for everyone's (or at least my) favorite funny woman, Tina Fey!
The 40-year-old star of 30 Rock announced she is expecting her second child with husband, composer Jeff Richmond, during a taping of The Oprah Winfrey Show on Wednesday, according to People. The couple have a five-year-old daughter, Alice.

Fey, who said she's five months along, seems to be right on trend: The Centers for Disease Control announced last week a 6 percent rise in the birth rate of women between 40 and 44, whereas birth rates among every other age group actually fell.

With her announcement, Fey, whose book, Bossypants, was released on Tuesday, put to rest that nagging, cocktail-party question of "Are you going to have more kids?" In fact, she recently mused about in a story she penned for The New Yorker:
"This is rude. Especially to a woman like me, who is in her 'last five minutes.' By that I mean my last five minutes of being famous is timing out to be simultaneous with my last five minutes of being able to have a baby. Science shows that fertility and movie offers drop off steeply for women after forty."

While fertility does decline as you get older, Fey shouldn't feel so uneasy. "In fact, a pregnant woman in her mid-to-late 30s (and early 40s) is nearly as likely to have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby as her much-younger counterparts," explains Heidi Murkoff, author of What to Expect.
And, while I can't quite comment on the decline of movie offers, I can point out a few of Hollywood's fabulous over-40 women who don't seem to find any trouble getting job offers: Salma Hayek, Halle Berry, Diane Lane, and Marisa Tomei.
Do you have any advice for Tina Fey? Who are your favorite over-40 Hollywood stars?
