6 Cuddliest Dog Breeds

By Cheryl Lock | Pet360.com

There's so much to love about our pups. Their sloppy kisses. The way they love us unconditionally. The way they're never, ever disappointed in us. And those cuddles? Oh, the cuddles!

Of course a cuddle with any pup is something we'll happily accept any day - but a cuddle with a super fluffy pup? Well that just makes all the sorrows in the world melt away.

While most pups are at least a little fluffy, there are certain breeds that really up the fluff factor. We contacted the American Kennel Club to find out which breeds are known specifically for their fluffiness. Keep in mind - a fluffy pup is fun, but they also require a little extra TLC in the grooming department. You need shampoo and a brush that's right for your dog's coat type - for example, a natural-bristle brush works best for short coats, according to the AKC, a comb for long coats and a pin brush for double coats and heavy shedders - and it's important to brush all the way down to your dog's skin to loosen and remove dead hair and dandruff.

Bichon Frise

Just call them the cotton balls of pups. Their curled double coats and cheerful, gentle demeanor make them a favorite among owners. The Bichon's hair grows continually and doesn't shed, so extensive grooming is required to prevent matting.

Chow Chow
Chow Chows are known for their lion-like appearance and their blue/black tongues. Their double-coat is heavy, and regular grooming and bathing is a must to maintain it. Chow Chows are about as active as the average house cat. This breed can be very independent and often requires early socialization and training.

Keeshond
Affection and good-natured, the Keeshond tends to learn quickly and is very energetic. They need daily brushing to maintain their coat. This lovable breed is always up for a cuddle session.

Great Pyrenees
Affectionate, but with an innate instinct to guard and protect, the Great Pyrenees is an intelligent breed. Their thick, weather resistant, white coat requires brushing at least once a week.

Tibetan Mastiff
Tibetan Mastiffs are known protectors, bred to be guardians over their families. They have immense double coats that shed once a year and require regular brushing. However, their coat is what makes them extra cuddly.

Rough Collie
A devoted family dog and lover of children, the rough coated Collie has a massive coat that sheds and requires regular brushing. The Rough Collie is an active breed, but they are happy to relax with you after a long day for an evening cuddle.
