Gay King Penguins Start Their Own Royal Family

Gay penguins are not something you usually hear about. However, they've been in the news quite a bit recently, with a new couple at a zoo in Denmark and another in China. Buzzfeed reported that the couple in the former country, after a year together at the Odense Zoo, became parents. There was a bit of a to-do with the eggs (the couple actually stole one from a female couple, but zookeepers let it slide!), but finally the gay penguins welcomed their new chick into the world last month. Unfortunately for baby penguin lovers or anyone otherwise obsessed with tiny newborn animals, the sex of the little chick won't be determined for another 8 months.
