Mother's Day brings breakfast in bed -- who's to say that Father's Day can't bring a long-cooked, sticky-fingered, hard-earned dinner? This Father's Day, join your dad (or, if you're a dad, your kids!) in the kitchen, and cook one of these dishes to make the day special. You deserve it.
8 garlic cloves
1 tbsp + 1 tsp salt, divided
2 tbsp minced rosemary
1/2 cup + 2 tbsp brown sugar, divided
1 cup + 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar, divided
1 tsp each cayenne + black pepper
8 lb. baby back ribs
1. Heat oven to 425F. Mash garlic & 1 tsp salt to a paste. Mix with rosemary, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 2 tbsp vinegar, 1 tbsp salt & peppers. Rub on ribs & put in roasting pans, meaty side up. Marinate, chilled, 8-24 hrs.
3. Pour 1/2 cup water into each pan & cover with foil. Roast ribs until meat is tender, 1 3/4 hrs. Remove from oven & set ribs aside.
4. Add 1 cup hot water to pans & scrape brown bits. Skim fat. Add remaining vinegar & sugar; bring to boil. Reduce to 1 cup, 15 mins.
5. Heat grill to medium hot, brush ribs with glaze & grill ribs until hot, 6 mins. Brush with more glaze. Serve. less
