Yeast is the beating heart of every beer, and utilizing the right strain can make or break a brew's flavor. On a whim, Oregon's Rogue sent samples of brewmaster John Maier's beard to a lab for analysis. The surprising result: the follicles harbored a yeast strain tailor-made for brewing. The beard beer will debut next year, bringing new meaning to drinking the "hair of the dog."
