The Sock Bun

Have you tried creating a sock bun? I haven't, but apparently if you cut the toes off a sock and roll it up into a donut shape and then tuck your ponytail around it with ten million bobby pins, you'll have a perfect J. Lo knot. Just as quickly as the style took over my Pinterest homepage, though, it had its way with the red carpet, and now its ubiquity has me yawning over what was a clever updated take on... more

Just as quickly as the style took over my Pinterest homepage, though, it had its way with the red carpet, and now its ubiquity has me yawning over what was a clever updated take on a usually-fussy style. If anyone can lure me back, though, it's Gwen Stefani whose matte, choppy version is a sweet escape from the shellacked ballerina bun. less
