Ingredients:
2 bottles of Chianti
4 oz Amaro
2 oz honey
4 whole cinnamon sticks
4 whole star anise
8 cloves
2 blood oranges, peeled
2 whole vanilla bean pods

Dried Cherries
Place spices, dried cherries, and orange peels in a cheesecloth, and tie to form a purse. In a large pot combine wine, Amaro, and honey, and warm over medium heat. Add spice pouch and cherries, and let simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Strain the liquid into a heat-resistant punch bowl and serve warm. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and an orange peel.
