CLASSIC SMOKY EYES
You know how we said smoky eyes are dramatic? When you're getting decked out for a major night on the town, nothing less will do. Copy Julianne Moore's by drawing a black eye pencil-we love how well Elizabeth Arden Smoky Eyes Powder Pencil in Smoky Black smudges-along the upper lashes. (It's OK if it's a little messy...that's the idea.) Apply a matte slate or concrete eye shadow (Sephora Colorful Mono Eyeshadow in City Fog) just below the lower lashes and on the eyelids, then blend outward to the crease. "Blur the edges-that gives you that really smoky, diffused look. It starts with the black and just fades into a slate color," says Murphy. Finish with tons of black mascara. Leave the rest of the face pretty bare-just conceal any spots of redness, and dust on a natural blush and some clear lip balm.
