Rule #1: If your shorts could be called "hot pants" or evoke the word "booty," save them for the beach. If you're Miley Cyrus or Rihanna, wearing super short shorts is part of your job description, but it's not a trend the rest of us can get away with as easily. Shorts can be great on a date and even office appropriate, but should always fully cover the derriere and upper thigh. Choose pretty prints, solids, or stripes in a substantial fabric and relegate your favorite cut offs to the weekend. Most of all, do your research. Here's a head start.
- Tue, Apr 23, 2013 5:00 PM EDT | CommentsPersonally, our swimsuit drawers are already overflowing with options (they just take up so little space!), yet we kind of can't wait to get some more for this summer. While some swimwear costs upwards of five hundred dollars, there are some great suits to be had for under $100. The following are the seven strongest swimwear trends for summer -- all under $100 -- in both one piece and bikini styles. What's your favorite?
by Ariel Rivera, Style Editor - Wed, Apr 24, 2013 12:46 PM EDT | CommentsThis Thursday is Take Your Child to Work Day. I remember as a little girl dressing up to go to work with my father; he was the CFO of a research company and always made time for Take Your Daughter to Work Day. I felt so grown-up to be attending his office with the suits and the important-looking people and the big desks. These days, I have my own office and big desk and coworkers. I sit at a desk from 9 am-5 pm each workday, working in Online Strategy & Services. I adore my job and my company and am so proud when I tell people what I do for a living. Harrison is a little young to be attending Take Your Child to Work Day; he's 3 1/2 and unfortunately, I don't have coworkers that train mice to run through mazes. Instead, I compiled a list of things I've learned after a decade of work and one year in my dream job:

10 Clever House-Cleaning Tips
Spring Cleaning To-Do List
Top 50 Everyday Money-Saving Tips - Wed, Apr 24, 2013 12:40 PM EDT | CommentsIt may be a sign of getting older, but in recent years I've developed quite the crush on cleaning and organizational supplies. That said, I kind of loathe the actual process of cleaning. (Don't most of us?) But something about having a house fully stocked with every kind of cleaning spray, sponge and cloth imaginable makes the task feel a little less daunting. Maybe because it takes some of the work out of it when you aren't trying to hunt down the right brush for the job? Either way, I am categorically in love with the new Clean Slate collection from Crate & Barrel. The collection boasts beautifully designed products sure to make cleaning a bit more joyful and I want just about all of them. Click through for ten of my favorites!

Instead of running for the hills because summer is fast approaching and you haven't yet thought about shedding your winter coat, and/or the thought of stepping foot in a fine purveyor of performance wear gives you anxiety, check out the fine fitness gear from five of our favorite retailers.

If you could pick just one color that you feel will never go out of style, what would you choose? Ours is gold, hands down. We love the resurgence of one of our favorite colors, and gold has officially crossed over into stationery too. And we're not talking about invites printed on gold paper.
We're currently obsessing over gold foil. This detail is created when gold is pressed into thin sheets and then added to invitations often in the form of calligraphy or ornate sketches. Although it sounds formal, this technique is as appropriate for a whimsical wedding as it is for a completely formal black-tie soiree.
Because visuals tend to work best, we've pulled together 10 top-notch gold foil invitation suites we are sure you will love too. Check out the gold foil gallery!

Make a statement with your accessories! - Wed, Apr 24, 2013 11:14 AM EDT | CommentsCalling all cat ladies! There's a fashion trend going on that I think you just might like. Yes, you've guessed right. Cat tees seem to be taking over a lot of our favorite fashion sites. Can I be a little excited about this? My cat obsession started when I was little and my dad brought home our first stray. I named her Kitty, we became best friends, and the rest is history. Today, I have two rescues and I'm a proud cat mom. I'm a sucker for funny cat jokes, pics, and videos. Hey, it comes with the territory people. Below you'll find 10 purrfect cat tees! There's nothing like a little cat lady fashion to make your day a little brighter. - By Monique Fraustro
