When my baby started walking, I was running around hiding cords, elevating breakables, and throwing my body across the open top of our staircase. We realized pretty quickly that we needed to do some serious baby-proofing. I know a lot of parents who give baby-proofing sort of a half effort. They remove obvious threats, but a lot of things remain, and they end up exhausted and frustrated because they are constantly dragging toddlers away from dangerous spaces. We decided to do a comprehensive, complete job of baby-proofing. Because we've removed every potential danger zones in our house, we now have a space where we can totally relax. Here are 7 things we did to help make our house more kid-friendly! -- By Emily Malone
Kid-friendly low drawers
Cullen absolutely loves playing in our kitchen. Since he can't get into the cabinets, he has figured out how to grab ahold of the drawers and lean alllll the way back until they open. For this reason, our lowest drawers are all Cullen-friendly. One has all his dishes and cups, and the other is full of dishtowels and bibs!
