There are actually two kinds: White fat, usually found around the belly and thighs comes from eating too many calories and is linked to inflammation as well as heart disease, and
brown fat, typically found near the neck and chest, is the mega heat producing counterpart (thanks to a ton of mitochondria, cells' energy-making powerhouses) that actually helps your body burn more calories.
