Instead of pricing your stuff, simply set your stuff out and have a sale. The stress of pricing items is often the number one thing preventing people from having a garage sale.

Instead of pricing your stuff, simply set your stuff out and have a sale. The stress of pricing items is often the number one thing preventing people from having a garage sale.

Also, people often don't know what to price their items. If you price an item, you'll often lowball yourself.

Last, people never pay the marked price anyway - they'll negotiate. So, instead, if someone is interested in an item, ask them to name their price. Nine times out of ten, you'll get more money. If you see someone pull up in a Jaguar and a Gucci purse, Lynda says, you'll be sorry you only asked for $5 on your vintage candle holders, when they'll pay $10.
