This illuminating, hilarious memoir about life with a troubled mother is, oddly, a reminder of how much our children love us, even when we don't deserve it. Storm Large (her given name, blame the crazy mom) went through teenage years of anorexia, punk-rock rebellion and hard-core (and graphically rendered) drug addiction, then grew up to be a successful Portland, OR, musician and contestant on Rock Star: Supernova.
