These classic-looking sloppy joes use veggie-based, protein-rich TVP or Textured Vegetarian Protein. This recipe allows for maximum deliciousness since the TVP absorbs all the flavors. This recipe also greatly resembles real meat.

1 1/2 cup TVP
1 Tbsp tamari or soy sauce
2 Tbsp maple or agave syrup

Make TVP Sliders: Ingredients:

1 1/2 cup TVP
1 Tbsp tamari or soy sauce
2 Tbsp maple or agave syrup
14 ounce can of fire-roasted tomatoes, crushed
14 ounces water
6 ounces tomato paste
2-3 Tbsp olive oil

1 tsp chili powder
2 Tbsp dried parsley flakes
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp liquid smoke
pepper/salt to taste

Directions:

1. In a nonstick skillet, add all the ingredients and begin to stir. The TVP will absorb the liquid as it cooks.
2. Cook for about 15 minutes on medium heat. Salt and pepper to taste.
