Artichokes Italian, '76
Have you ever walked up to a buffet, seen the antipasto table and said, "Forget it, I couldn't navigate that if I were Columbus himself?" That's what happened to the guy who came up with this dish. So he put it all in an artichoke, figuring if at the end of the endless tunnel of mushrooms, pickled cauliflower florets, slices of salami, cubes of cheese, and pieces of various peppers, carrots and onions you're still not full, there's always the unsalted, barely steamed artichoke to save the day.
