The more skin that shows through and the better the product matches your skin tone the more natural your skin will look." To find your perfect match, Nelson suggests testing foundation on the jawline and checking it out in natural light. He also advises to wait a few minutes before checking because makeup can oxidize and pigments get darker when they hit air or mix with the oils in your skin.
