On her website slash online store, Real Housewife Gretchen Rossi provides an explanation for this naked photo shoot: "Hey it got your attention, didn't it?" That's usually the explanation for a nude awareness campaign, but it's not a very good one--especially when it comes to breast cancer.
Blisstree reports that Rossi's print ad (in which she also hawks a breast cancer-themed purse sold on her site) has offended several survivors of the disease. "The campaign is not kind or thoughtful to those of us that lost our breasts," cancer survivor Ashley McIntire wrote in response to the The Breast Cancer Charities partnership with Rossi. "We have major scars. And meds, chemo, radiation have all changed our bodies. To put models with perfect figures in your ads, not a way to reach me."
