Not really. "The condition of his coat wasn't great," Haggerty notes, because he was just too large to bathe himself properly, "and he did seem depressed and lacking energy." (We would be too if we'd been rehomed in a wine box.) But a trip to a veterinarian and some tests ruled out both underlying conditions
causing the weight gain and underlying conditions caused
by it. "He seemed other than the weight to be quite healthy," Haggerty says, "which we were really happy about."
