To finally break our daughters' bagel-toast-bagel-bagel-bagel rut, my husband and I turned to homemade, customized granola. To finally break our daughters' bagel-toast-bagel-bagel-bagel rut, my husband and I turned to homemade, customized granola. By customized, I mean each of my daughters has a say over what goes into her particular batch. Almonds? Pistachios? A little more coconut? A little less agave? Dried cherries tossed in after it bakes? No problem. It's tasty and energy-packed and (most important) can be tossed over yogurt at 6:00 a.m. by someone other than a sleep-starved grown-up.
