Fact: Get a recommendation from a person who truly knows you. The best recommendations include anecdotes that show why you are an excellent candidate. Unless he's a lifelong friend, what will your mom's sister's friend's lawyer's cousin who happens to be a friend of Robert Pattinson (sigh), really be able to say about you?
