What are props you recommend avoiding?
Never use glass (i.e. bowls, jars, etc.), or suspend an infant from anything. If you have ever seen this done, more than likely it is a composite (an editing technique that blends two images together to create one final image), and the infant was never really in a glass container to begin with or lifted off of the ground without adult hands constantly on the baby. Always remember that often times what you see in newborn photography is 'trickery', and a photographer's first priority is the baby's safety & comfort. less
