If you don’t know exactly how much debt you have as a couple, how much money comes in and goes out each month, how many accounts you have and whose name they are in and how much is in them, make it a point to find out. Now.

I’ve seen smart, smart women suddenly realize they don’t know how much money is in investment accounts, and learn when it is too late that money has been moved around and spent by their “partners” without their knowledge. Others have no real clue what’s on their joint tax returns.

What drew my attention was not the first-term, 44-year-old
Alaska governor who was standing at the podium proudly accepting
the invitation to join a presidential ticket. My eyes were instead
focused on a woman in the crowd.

Dressed in a navy blue T-shirt bearing an American flag, the
woman had, just moments earlier, been politely listening to GOP
nominee John McCain explain why he made his particular choice of a
running mate. Before revealing the name of his VP, Sarah Palin,
McCain talked about how his announcement would "shake up Washington." It
wasn't until he mentioned that it was the week
of the 88th anniversary of women's suffrage
when it dawned upon the woman in the flag T-shirt --
who'd likely been standing in the Dayton, Ohio
crowd for hours -- that the vice presidential nominee was not a
guy. The spectator's mouth fell open. Her eyes
widened. She looked at the man standing next to her as though she
couldn't believe what she'd
just heard. It couldn't be a woman. Could

people interact. At work, in public, and also in families. I have a manager (she is my boss) who speaks to people like they are less than intelligent and also acts out in a manner that is less than
professional. She happens to be younger than me and has not acted as badly with me as she has with other employees.

I am in a conundrum when it comes to
addressing this issue. On one hand I do not want to "rock the boat" so to speak, but on the other, my
feeling is if not addressed her behavior will continue to deteriorate to the point of a serious conflict with myself or with another employee.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? If so, how did you handle it?? Thanks...

Not bad for about 20 minutes work, which involved calling the credit company and moving some automatic payments to my AMEX Blue Cash card which has no annual fee. I had had the United chase card for about 3 years, primarily for the United mileage plus points which were useful as I traveled a lot. However, as my travel requirements reduced and with my current card's 5% cash reward program, the reward miles were not really worth the annual fee (plus I really don't like flying United anymore). I should have canceled the card last year, but like a lot of people, I got lazy and just kept the card. It is only after the annual fee is charged that I was reminded about it and wished I had canceled. This year, as I got my finances in order, I was more proactive and canceled the card before the annual fee hit.
