A close friend of mine sent me a picture today that we took together four months ago, just a few weeks before he quit smoking. It's a lovely photo. We're both smiling and happy and having a great time. But the first thing I thought when I saw it was how different he looks after twelve weeks of being tobacco-free. His skin is rosier, his eyes are brighter and the dark circles around them have disappeared. His whole demeanor -- and much of his life -- has changed. To be blunt, things looked a lot different when he smoked.
