We loved reading Oprah Winfrey’s tribute to Michelle Obama in “The Time 100,” from Time magazine’s issue about the world’s most influential people. But we love it now even more hearing the heart-wrenching story of how her piece came to fruition. It’s not what you think.

"I was doing it on a BlackBerry," Oprah confessed. "I'd been saving little notes on my BlackBerry. You know, I'd think of something and I'd put it on BlackBerry in the memo section. And then I went to hit the wrong button and the whole thing deleted! I went to hit 'Save' and instead I hit ... 'Oh my God! Oh my God! It's gone!' That ever happened to you? And then you can't remember — not one sentence you wrote." Oh man, we really, really hate that. The sad part: all of Oprah's power couldn't save that document and she had to start from scratch.

When I hear Michelle Obama share her goals for Barack’s term in the White House -- such as creating an “Obama China pattern” -- I wonder what Maria Shriver’s advice for her would be. Shriver was in a similar position -- standing by her man when he entered politics -- and if she could do it again, she would do things differently!
