Encouraging children to be heroes

A thirteen-year-old girl in the Netherlands is planning to spend
two years sailing around the world alone but is being blocked by
social services who question her father's competence. Would
you, as a parent, allow your child to make a landmark journey,
whether on land or by sea? Would you support your child in
achieving his or her dream, whatever it might be, assuming he or
she had the skill and experience to achieve it successfully?

Ship featured in the Pirates of the Caribbean coming to San Francisco

I am not a big fan of boats but I still have a
vivid memory of visiting the replica of the Santa Maria, one of
Christopher Columbus’ boats in Barcelona. I remember thinking how
small they were. Same with Sir Francis Drake’s boat in London. They
almost look like ‘toys’ and…

Cool and Creative Eco-Chic Gift Ideas

Some of you think of "Eco Gifts" as recyclable
... because they'd soon be passed onto someone else! My
team and I have sourced an array of eco-friendly gift ideas, from
innovative stocking stuffers to stylish fine jewelry, including
things for her and him, and presents that will be very well
received by your friends and family. Mother Nature frowns upon all
the manufacturing, packing materials and fuel involved in global
retail, so go Eco, at least for some of your gifts this season.
