As far back as we can remember, there haven't been any good or even moderately OK tampon commercials. Whether it's the red dot rolling around your screen or the "pearl girl" jingle, they've all been stupid and borderline irritating. When it comes to marketing tampons, it's almost a dying battle. No one wants to buy them, but you need them. Do you really have a strong opinion on brands?

Serena Williams may lose more than the U.S. Open women's semi-final match to Kim Clijsters because she lost it following a line judge's double-fault call. Convinced she didn't step on the line, Serena had some choice, bleep-able words for the line judge, and, it seems, some more words that could be taken as a threat. The immediate result: a penalty, which cost her the point, which happened to be match point, delivering the win to the returning, unseeded Clijsters.

She swung by the office yesterday and told us about all her amazing projects from HSN to her new skin products (the woman has the MOST gorgeous complexion) and the fact that she is writing a book and oh, yes, almost forgot, just opened a new school in Kenya for kids in need. Serena had beaten her big sis, Venus, the night before at Madison Square Garden, and I love how sweet and soft-spoken she is, as well as beautifully put together, the hair very Marilyn, the body strong and curvy and totally hot (yes, I can say that!) and her creative mind is always churning.
