Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Robin Givhan is no dummy, so
she must’ve anticipated the article she wrote for the <a rel=

Washington Post this weekend was bound to generate
some controversy. She’s added her two-cents to the fashion world’s

debate drama by essentially saying we love to hate on twiggy
ladies because we’re filled with self-loathing for our own fat

Sooo, um, yeah ...

Nurses returning to work in droves; taking a closer look

In June, the Wall Street Journal reported that the Center for
Interdisciplinary Health Workforce Studies at Vanderbilt
University’s School of Nursing released a study about 2007-2008
nursing employment patterns. Here’s what caught my eye: “Many
nurses who had left the field have re-entered the work force to
compensate for a spouse’s lost income or health benefits, the study
said. About half the increase over the [2007-2008] period came from
nurses over age 50.” A look at the career paths of four relaunching
nurses here in Newton, MA, where I live, will give you a sense of
the wide range of possibilities open to returning nurses:
I’d like to share with you some excellent relauncher resources I
have come across in the past few months. They range from the
instructive to the inspirational, to the idea-generating. Let’s
start with “instructive.” Interview Mastery is an in-depth guide to
interviewing skills and strategies created by Michael Neece. I met
Michael recently and was intrigued by both his personal story (he’s
also a founder of Pongo Resume) and his Interview Mastery
product.

How much life insurance do I need?

In most cases, if you have no dependents and have enough money to pay your final expenses, you don’t need any life insurance.

If you want to create an inheritance or make a charitable contribution, buy enough life insurance to achieve those goals.

time-honored tradition of hating on a woman's body for various

and or being just plain "fugly"--is on the increase, and both
technology and the public's seemingly voracious appetite for cutting
commentary is to blame.
