Wallpaper without borders: Cavern Home's Casa de Milagros

In collaboration with Peru's Casa de Milagros orphanage, New York-based wallpaper company Cavern Home has produced a line of wallpaper featuring designs co-created by the kiddos themselves, with proceeds going directly to the orphanage.

...particularly this affordable line-drawing version from Graham & Brown's Young Designer Collection, available at Target.com for fifty bucks a roll. Of course, then I might have to buy a bunch of really glossy, bright, lacquered furniture to go with it, and then it would snowball into this no-longer-even-remotely-affordable enterprise, but that's why it's a dream and not a reality.

One of the more persistent design trends of the last five years or so has been the return of wallpaper, a revival generated in part by new digital printing and an appetite for contemporary floral patterning.

At the International Contemporary Furniture Fair, which closes tomorrow in New York, the 62-year-old British wallcovering firm Graham & Brown showed a line (above and below) of eight new designs by Marcel Wanders, the Dutch master of playful surrealism.
