With Mother's Day right around the corner, most of us should be especially thankful for the amazing ladies in our lives. (Click here for some Mom-inspired gift ideas if you haven't picked up anything yet.) BUT not every woman with kids deserves props. In fact, we found four very beauty-obsessed moms that leave us a little terrified.
Scroll down to check out four controversial beauty-obsessed mothers that are sure to have you thanking your lucky stars you got the mom you did.
This orange-hued mother (Patricia Krentcil) made waves recently after being accused of bringing her 5-year-old daughter inside a tanning booth. Her daughter showed up to school the next day with a severe sunburn. Though Krentcil denies that her daughter went tanning, she was arrested for child endangerment. Makes you appreciate those times mom chased after you with the sunscreen bottle, huh?
Although Kerry Campbell later retracted her claim that she had administered Botox injections on her 8-year-old daughter, the whole thing seemed completely plausible, and totally disgusting. She initially said her daughter Britney begged for the injections in order to compete in the pageant world. "I knew she was complaining about her face, having wrinkles, and things like that. When I brought it up to Britney she was all for it," she told "Good Morning America." After that appearance, Child Protective Services stepped in and Campbell got the help she clearly needed.
Extreme Diet Mom
While it's no secret that Americans are battling obesity on a daily basis, Vogue-writer Dara-Lynn Weiss's good intentions seem to get lost in her own weight issues. After being told that her 7-year-old daughter was clinically obese, Weiss went to the extreme: denying meals, public embarrassment, and obsessive calorie counting. Sure, wanting your daughter to have a healthy weight and eat well is important, but something tells us this diet did more harm than good.
Plastic Surgery Mom
British-based mum Sarah Burge couldn't give her young daughter liposuction for Christmas … so she settled for a voucher, redeemable at age 18. The best part? For her birthday little Poppy Burge got another coupon -- this time for breast implants. Way to set a positive body image, Mom.
