Since bursting on the scene in 2007's Superbad, Emma Stone has truly made a name for herself. Not only has she hosted Saturday Night Live twice, she's also been nominated for a Golden Globe and is currently receiving plenty of Oscar buzz for her turn in The Help. Now, Emma has a whole new role: a global ambassador for Revlon. But when it comes down to it, Emma is just as down to earth and awesome as you'd expect. From her first attempts at makeup to how she inadvertently became a redhead, find out this and more when you keep reading.

BellaSugar: How did you get involved with Revlon?
Emma Stone: Well, they approached me, which was pretty wild and mind-boggling. As I researched the company and looked into it, I realized that this has always been my mom's favorite makeup brand, so I already knew a lot about Revlon. It's an incredibly iconic brand. Then, looking into what they've done for breast cancer, that's what made it a no-brainer to want to be involved. They've raised so much money for breast cancer research and have done so much with the Run/Walk. Then there's their involvement in Look Good . . . Feel Better, and all of these incredible organizations that have to do with breast cancer. So I was in!

BS: What can we expect from you and Revlon over the next few months? You're backing a new gloss, correct?
ES: Yes, the ColorBurst Lip Butter [available in select stores now]. I get to be part of the that, and the PhotoReady Airbrush Mousse makeup [available in Jan.] - the most fun thing you'll ever play with. But you have to do it carefully because if you press too hard, a lot comes out. You get a lot of bang for your buck with that one, I tell you that.

BS: Have you shot any of the campaign yet?
ES: Yes, we did a couple of commercials, which was really fun. That was a new experience for me.

BS: What was it like?
ES: It was a blast. It was what I assume shooting a music video would feel like, because there's little vignettes and scenes throughout the day. I had never done that before. And Revlon has been so wonderful to work with because they understand my personality. They know I like things to be funny and silly and a little bit subversive. As a brand, they're so innovative and forward-thinking. I've been really grateful to be working with them.

BS: Now that you've been in the business for a while, what are some of your favorite beauty tips you've learned along the way?
ES: Probably the top three things would be: moisturize, sleep, and work on the eyebrows. Those are the three things I try to focus on in my daily life!

BS: Everybody knows you for your stunning red hair. So what's it like to be a redhead? Why'd you do it?:
ES: I had been blond my whole life and I dyed it brown when I was 15. Then when I went to the camera test for Superbad, Martha MacIsaac, who was the other girl in the movie, had brown hair. Judd Apatow walked in and said, "Make it red." So they took me to a colorist and made my hair red. It's just kind of been red ever since, except, you know, when it was blond for The Amazing Spider-Man. My mom's a redhead. I think maybe there's that, too; the coloring and the association with my mom being a redhead. I really liked that.

BS: Speaking of your mom, did you learn about hair and makeup and beauty stuff from her, or did you pick it up on your own?
ES: I learned a fair amount [from my mom]. More than anything, I went way too heavy at first, and then I pulled back. That tends to be my personality trait: go for broke, and then you can always pull it back! She let me experiment, but I did slowly but surely have to "earn" a little more makeup as I got older. I definitely wasn't wearing a full face of makeup at 12.

BS: What's one of your best red carpet moments when it all came together? The hair, the makeup, the dress?
ES: My personal favorite, just because it meant so much to me, was probably the Golden Globes look: the Calvin Klein Collection dress. It was peach; it was kind of monochromatic. It was my seventh anniversary of moving to LA, [and] the whole night was just so special. I think more than anything, when you're happy and you're really appreciating where you are, that's when you feel the best on the outside, too. So that was probably my favorite altogether. I didn't even look like myself; I looked like an alien. I looked like a different person. That's really a nice feeling!
