With the holidays right around the corner, we talked to Niki Taylor about health, happiness, beauty, and every mom's quest to stay sane during the busiest time of year. By Lauren Le Vine, REDBOOK.
Niki Taylor launched onto the international modeling scene at the age of 14. Today, Taylor is still modeling, but she's also a wife, mother, TV host, spokesperson, and philanthropist. With the holiday season approaching, Taylor is working with Optimal Solutions, a new line of healthy shakes perfect for moms on the go. We talked to Taylor about how many women already have it all - they just might not realize it.
How she takes "me time" without feeling guilty about it: "I'm really big on schedules and sticking to a routine. I try to get to bed around 8:30 or 9 o'clock so I can wake up an hour before the kids do - usually around five. After I wake up, I try to get in a run or my walk on the treadmill. If I don't get to that, I drink my breakfast shake, sit down with my devotion; and do my meditation and planning."Related: 100 Gifts Under $50 for Everyone on Your List
How to stay present, especially when you're crazy busy: "I think it's important to be in the moment. I know tomorrow will take care of itself. Enjoy spending time with the kids while they have breakfast and during the drive to and from school. Women often think that there's no plan; we just go and do it. It's important to stop and just be in the moment. Enjoy the time because it's going to be crazy anyway. Make sure you're getting sleep and exercising. Put the baby in a stroller and get outside for some fresh air if it's a nice day. It can be that simple."
How she stays healthy during the holidays: "I always have hand sterilizer and Wet Ones in my bag. Since I'm constantly washing my hands, I always have lotion in my bag because it's going to get dry outside. Make sure to drink lots of water - it may be cold out, but you do still get dehydrated."

Her go-to cocktail party look: "I love neutral-colored long-sleeve sweater dresses that are nice and thin. You can throw on a big chunky necklace or big earrings to dress them up for the holidays."
The best beauty tip she learned as a model: "Always take off your makeup, no matter how tired you are. You have to take care of your skin. I also can't emphasize the importance of sleep enough. I think that's the best."
What her daughter thinks about modeling: "We just did our first photo shoot together at a campground for a holiday campaign, and she just thought we were on a field trip. If you ask her what I do, she says 'Mommy says cheese for a living.' She's more into photography; she takes my phone all the time."
Is there such a thing as "having it all?" "Absolutely. Living in the country we live in, if we have a roof over our head, food in our refrigerator, and a car, I think we already have it all. I think we have a lot of blessings every single day, a lot of people just miss them."
