courtesy of Revlon When we think about the red carpet -- specifically, the designer gowns gracing said carpet -- one label immediately comes to mind: Marchesa. The ultra-feminine line, created by former models and actresses Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, exudes Hollywood glamour with intricate details like beading, draping and the most exquisite fabrics. But until I can find an extra $3,000 to drop on a Marchesa gown, I won't be rocking their stuff any time soon. Instead, I'll keep the aesthetic (appropriately so) to my beauty look. Which is why I'm head over (stiletto) heels for the latest beauty/fashion mashup: Revlon by Marchesa 3D Jewel Appliques.

These ridiculously gorgeous nail appliques are textured -- think of 'em as diamonds for tips -- and as drop-dead gorg as the gowns from the New York fashion duo. Plus, they're only ten bucks, and can be found at your local drugstore.
And, while they look crazy intricate, they are super simple to apply. Just pick the applique that matches your own nail and adhere accordingly. I like to use an orange stick (the ones usually reserved for pushing back cuticles) so that I apply pressure firmly and evenly. Once the decal is in place, fold over the edge of your nail and file extra away.

My absolute fave from the collection is the Gilden Mosaic (top right), a black nail with the most intricate gold-and-silver dots allover that reminds me of this phenomenal dress from their Fall 2013 collection.
The best news is that Marchesa's beauty endeavors don't stop at your tips -- expect to see nail lacquers, lip and eye products as well as beauty tools from Revlon and the designer in the next year. Do you feel red-carpet ready yet?
