Is This the Wildest Hair Color Trend Yet?

Pastel streaks, bleached white-blonde, young girls going gray--I've seen some pretty crazy hair-color trends since becoming a beauty editor. But this one truly takes the cake. Scrolling through my Feedly account yesterday, I came across a picture on hair colorist Aura Friedman's Tumblr. She had given a client tiger-striped hair, adding black horizontal bands against her sunny blonde strands. Now, normally I would just pass this off as Aura being Aura (meaning, very creative), but it seems animal-print hair has become somewhat of a trend. We first saw it at Jean Paul Gaultier's couture show, where stylist Odile Gilbert painted leopard spots onto voluminous French twists. A couple of months later, Gilbert was at it again, adding zebra stripes to the back of the models' side-swept hair at Rodarte's spring 2014 show.

These wild dye jobs look really, really cool--and if I made my living as a rock star, I might just jump into Aura's chair and go for it. For now, though, I'll still be heading to my 9-to-5 with my boring old ombré--and limiting my animal print to the neck down. How about you?
