"Doritos Loaded " Spotted at 7-Eleven

Has the next big Doritos–fast food mashup arrived? Maybe. Seven-Eleven patron Kevin Cobb recently spotted a product called “Doritos Loaded” at a Washington D.C. shop (at 1100 Vermont Avenue, if you’re a Doritos addict).

"They tasted like Nacho Cheese Doritos dipped in queso,” Cobb told us in an email. “The smell was awesome and distinctly Dorito-y.” He likened the texture to that of a mozzarella stick, although he’d expected them to be crunchier. That said, Cobb said he’d order them again.

A 7-Eleven rep confirmed that Doritos Loaded is “a product that is in test,” although she was tight-lipped about giving out further details. “It’s just too soon to really talk about it,” she said. But an employee at the Vermont Avenue store said the snack became available about two weeks ago, and that she knows of two other 7-Eleven stores in Washington, D.C. also selling them.

We’ll be keeping an eye on how they perform. Can anything top the success of Taco Bell’s Doritos Locos, which officially became the chain’s most popular offering ever in 2012? If everyone’s reaction to Doritos Loaded is as enthusiastic as Cobb’s, perhaps. People really love Doritos.
